This page positions Hygiene Subscriptions as Primoro’s clinician‑led, product‑based membership module, enabling practices to offer personalised oral‑care subscriptions recommended by hygienists and delivered automatically to patients’ homes.

Unlike Care Plan Subscriptions (which cover clinical visits), Hygiene Subscriptions focus on at‑home preventive care, extending the hygienist’s recommendations beyond the chair.

This page must communicate

What Hygiene Subscriptions do

Hygiene Subscriptions enable practices to offer clinician‑defined oral‑care product subscriptions tailored to each patient’s needs, habits, and preferences.

During a hygiene appointment, the hygienist:

  • selects appropriate oral‑care products
  • defines how often each product should be supplied
  • reviews the personalised plan and price with the patient in real time

Patients can sign up immediately in‑clinic or complete enrolment later through the mobile app. Once active, billing and delivery run automatically.

Core capabilities (Design Standard)

1) Chair‑side personalised plan builder

  • Hygienists create bespoke plans during appointments
  • Select the required sundries from each hygiene category, for example:

  • Interdental cleaning (e.g. interdental brushes or silicone picks)

  • Toothbrushes and brush heads (manual or electric, including specialist designs)

  • Toothpastes (standard, sensitive, or high‑fluoride where clinically appropriate)

  • Rinses and gels (for gum health, inflammation control, or healing support)

  • Floss and flossing aids

  • Specialty brushes (e.g. interspace or precision cleaning)

  • Plaque‑disclosing aids (optional educational support for patients)

  • Define individual supply intervals (monthly, bi‑monthly, quarterly)

  • Review the full plan and price live with the patient

2) Flexible, evolving subscriptions

  • Pricing reflects selected products and delivery frequency

4) Immediate or deferred sign‑up

After reviewing the plan, patients can:

  • Join immediately in the practice, or
  • Complete sign‑up later in the Primoro mobile app, where the saved plan is waiting

5) Automated Direct Debit billing

  • Monthly billing via Direct Debit (GoCardless)
  • No card payments
  • Automatic retries if a payment fails
  • Fulfilment paused if payment remains unresolved

Subscriptions run month‑to‑month and can be cancelled with one month’s notice.

6) Interval‑based fulfilment (not bundles)

  • Products are shipped only when due, based on their interval
  • Different items within the same plan may ship on different schedules
  • Fulfilment handled automatically through Primoro’s supplier network

Practices do not need to manage packing, postage, or logistics.

7) Patient self‑service experience

Through the Primoro patient mobile app, patients can:

  • review their personalised hygiene plan
  • see what products are included and when deliveries are due
  • track upcoming Direct Debit payments
  • update delivery address or payment details
  • cancel with one month’s notice

This keeps administration light for the practice.

8) Engagement & habit‑building (optional)

Hygiene Subscriptions can optionally support daily hygiene habits through in‑app reminders and simple progress tracking, aligned to hygienist recommendations.

Via the Primoro patient mobile app, patients may:

  • receive gentle reminders to complete daily hygiene routines (such as brushing, interdental cleaning, or rinses)
  • track consistency using simple streaks (for example daily or weekly completion)
  • earn badges for sustained habits and subscription milestones

These engagement features are designed to reinforce good daily routines, increase confidence and motivation, and support preventive care — without clinical judgement, scoring, or penalties.

9) Unified communications & alerts

  • Patients receive payment and delivery notifications
  • Tracking links are sent automatically when items ship
  • Staff are alerted to failed payments or cancellations
  • All activity flows through the Communication Hub and to patients via the Primoro mobile app
